Harvard/MIT Elite Program
Based on the US education policy and its focus, the GateWay Scholars Institute of Education officially launches the Harvard/MIT Elite Program aims at the skills required by future global talents and focusing on the theme of STEMS: STEM+SPORTS. Harvard/MIT Elite Program is a 13-day full-time summer camp, and it is the first elite education tour in Boston. Unlike the overseas summer camps that are organized by Chinese travel agencies or intermediaries across the market, our “STEMS” Summer Camp has integrated the best educational resources and community resources in the Greater Boston area and has a fully organized schedule for each participant. The curriculum is organized by current Harvard/MIT professors and student volunteers and GateWay Scholars project managers. We want all the participants to experience the most rigorous learnings from two of the most prestigious institutions. The sports program is supplemented along academics, such as swimming and basketball tournament. The Harvard/MIT Elite Program is dedicated to influencing all the participants by the most elite education model and classic American lifestyle.
Since 2014, GateWay Scholars launches STEM- and sports- based summer camp at Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. With current MIT professors and student volunteers and Harvard leadership course lecturers, participants will learn how to become a global leader with innovative perspectives.
MIT Media Lab STEM Session
The primary focus of the program is STEM, so we introduce our students to current MIT professors and students to learn about computer programming at MIT Media Lab. This session will heavily lay the material of the entry-level computer science and coding language.
Harvard Leadership Session
Part of the program introduces the emphasis on “Design Thinking” and “Leadership.” Students will have to participate in several experimental projects to develop practical skills required by the globalized community: independent and critical thinking, language expression, and teamwork.
In addition to the CS courses and leadership session, the camp is also complemented by a summer sports camp. We, the GateWay Scholars Institute of Education will team up with Hoop Mountain to host a 3-day summer basketball program. Professional basketball coaches will organize a range of activities such as basketball, UFO, and baseball. It is worth mentioning that more than 100 local Boston students will attend the sports camp each year, so GateWay’s students can experience the traditional American sports spirit with local students.
